Kaule, Otto. 1870 Thiendorf – 1948 Bardowiek. Evening peace. Oil/canvas, signed lower right O. Kaule, verso on label et al. titled and inscribed Bardowiek, 101.5 x 139, 5 cm, verso a patch doubled/restored, framed 132.5 x 170.5 cm.- Kaule studied at the Dresden Art Academy, met the painter and graphic artist Hugo Friedrich Hartmann settled together with him in the northwestern Mecklenburg Bardowieck. Together with other painters such as Georg Müller vom Siel, Ernst-Müller Scheeßel, Hans Müller-Brauel and they met in 1901 in Bremen to found the artists’ association ”Die Heidjer”, which existed only a few years.
