Moras, Walter. 1856 Berlin – 1925 Harzburg. Lot on the beach near Göhren on Rügen. 1882. gouache with watercolor/paper, with pencil signed W. Moras lower right as well as place-named and dated Göhren a. Rügen 1882 lower left, framed under mount behind glass 34 x 43,5 cm, mount cut-out 20,5 x 30 cm, unopened – Moras was a pupil of the well-known marine and landscape painter Hermann Eschke, on whose recommendation Moras painted in his younger years mainly on Rügen and in Mecklenburg. In 1876 he exhibited for the first time at the exhibition of the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin.
