Meier, Otto. 1903 Dortmund – 1996 Worpswede. Artist’s vase. Ceramic, multi-tonal green-brown-beige glaze, round bulbous body with short neck and round opening, bottom mark, h. 16 cm.- In 1925 Meier visited Worpswede and began an apprenticeship as a ceramist under Willi Ohler in the workshop of Bernhard Hoetger. A year later he took over the ceramics workshop of Hoetgers Kunsthütten, continued his education in Bunzlau supported by Ludwig Roselius and built up his own workshop in Worpswede in 1945.
