Flower-shaped Imari plate with innovative decorative scheme, Japan, Arita, Edo period(1603-1868), mid-19th century, Porcelain with cobalt blue print and polychrome onglaze and underglaze painting, unique mix of styles of the decoration: in the center floral wreath and border with floral diamonds in blue and white, the rim is dominated by depictions of Chinese children(karako) between bamboo and pine trees and chrysanthemums along with decorative ribbons in the colors of the Kakiemon style, floral tendrils in blue print also on reverse, one chip on rim, 21×3,2cm
