Iron Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha as ruler of the underworld, China, Ming dynasty(1368-1644) 15th c., the monk-shaped crowned Dizang Pusa in splendid vine-ornamented robe holds the insignia of a flaming jewel ball(skrt. cintamani/chin. baozhu) and rattle stick(skrt. khakkhara/chin. xizhang) in his hands and sits calmly and serenely in lotus sitting position(skrt. padmasana) on his mighty lotus throne, in order to look from here on the souls to be saved in hell, venerable oxydation patination, comparative example(but without cintamani wish jewel): Bonhams auction of 3/16/2015 lot 8063, 64x33x26cm, 28.3kg.
