Wilhelm Focke (1878-1974), an artist working in Bremen, studied at the art academies in Düsseldorf, Munich and Weimar under Ludwig von Hofmann and in Berlin under Arthur Kampf. He cherished friendship with Max Liebermann, Oskar Kokoschka, Max Slevogt and Hans Thoma. Mixed lot of 5 sheets with partly double-sided sketches: horse, naked boys, body studies, etc., 2 x monogrammed, all with the estate stamp, sheet dimensions to 31 x 23 cm.
