Friedrich Peter Hiddemann (1829-1892), German painter and lithographer of the Düsseldorf school, studied under Theodor Hildebrandt and Wilhelm von Schadow, among others. Two boys in the snow in front of a house facade, the smaller one threatening to take revenge for a snowball thrown by the arrogant-looking taller one. Oil on canvas, signed lower right, minimally rubbed, restored and retouched. Tear, 58 x 43 cm, framed 70 x 55 cm
