Alfred Beier-Red (1902-2001), rare early original drawing from around 1933, caricature about Japan and the League of Nations, black chalk on paper, signed by hand and inscribed in detail in the lower margin, stamp ”Redaktion Rote Post” on the verso. Beier-Red was an important German caricaturist, he mainly worked for the communist press, such as ”Die Rote Post”, ”Die Rote Fahne” etc., to protect himself from reprisals he usually signed with the pseudonym ”Red”. He was a co-founder of the ”Association of Revolutionary Visual Artists” and from 1946 he worked mainly for ”Neues Deutschland”. His prints and drawings are represented in the German Historical Museum, among others, but are rarely found on the market. Conservation defects, sheet dimensions 39 x 30 cm
