Alfred Beier-Red (1902-2001), rare early original drawing from around 1930, caricature about the relationship between Germany and France, black and blue chalk on paper, signed by hand and indistinctly inscribed in the lower margin, as well as stamp of the ”Redaktion Rote Post”. Beier-Red was an important German caricaturist, he mainly worked for the communist press, such as ”Die Rote Post”, ”Die Rote Fahne” etc., to protect himself from reprisals he usually signed with the pseudonym ”Red”. He was a co-founder of the ”Association of Revolutionary Visual Artists” and from 1946 he worked mainly for ”Neues Deutschland”. His prints and drawings are represented in the German Historical Museum, among others, but are rarely found on the market. Conservation defects, sheet dimensions 43 x 30 cm
