Set of the satirical magazine Mullah-Nasreddin, edited by Omar Kipiani (or Jalal-Manad-Kuliade), Tbilisi, from 1906. The caricatures of this magazine are by Oskar Schmerling and Josef Rotter, who both studied at the Munich Art Academy. Oskar Schmerling also founded the Art School in Tbilisi, which later became the Academy of Arts. In total, the journal appeared with interruption between 1906 and 1917. This volume comprises 190 pages, partially supplemented and underlaid with Japanese paper. It is arranged chronologically and starts with the very early issues No 1 & 2 from 1906. Size per page approx. 34 x 24 cm
