Booklet autograph August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben, dated 1840. 14 handwritten pages with 12 song texts, thread binding. On the title page ”Helgoland Lieder von Hoffmann von Fallersleben 1840”. One year later, in 1941, Fallsersleben composed ”Das Lied der Deutschen” on Heligoland, the third verse of which is the text of the German national anthem. Cover with small creases. Approx. 17.5 x 13.5 cm.
