A Prussian lidded cup, German, c. 1900, maker’s mark Bruckmann & Söhne Heilbronn, jeweler’s mark G. Hermeling, silver 800/000, partially and internally gilt, on 3 claw feet, the conical body, the overarching domed socket lid with pommel in the form of a crown, the wall with rich decoration, portrait of Emperor Wilhem II, within a laurel wreath, surrounded by the Prussian eagle, the verso with ribbon decoration inscribed ‘Kiel, den 30. Januar 1897’, the lid with scale and star decoration and surrounding gallery rim, overall h. 16 cm, approx. 268 g
