An unusual champagne cooler, KPM Berlin, small pfennig mark 1849-1870, 2nd choice, red imperial orb mark, designed by Julius Franz between 1856, model no. 2078, wine cooler with side handles in the shape of haemadryads with their upper bodies growing out of a vine and with raised arms pressing grapes in their hands to drink the juice. On the wall relief masks of a silen and a youthful faun under vine tendrils, The object is designed like a bacchanalian train to match its function, white, gold rims with blue edge, H. 33 cm, W. 33 cm, Ø 23 cm, The first object of this type was made for Princess Luise, a specimen was also exhibited at the London Exhibition in 1862.
