Schnupferin, Nymphenburg, late 19th century, model no. 213, Depicted is a typical Munich middle-class woman of advanced age. While shopping, which she carries in a filled wicker basket on her left arm, she takes a short break at the Viktualienmarkt and takes a pinch of snuff before continuing her errands and exchanging gossip with the market people, which also earned her the dialectal Bavarian name ‘Ratschkatl’. polychrome painted and ornamentally gilded, h. 16 cm
