Anschütz Spherical Compass Gyrosphere, mid 20th century Spherical gyrocompass, so-called Pluto sphere. Metal sphere, outside with 360-degree scale and model number ”IV-T-15656”, screw-on with internal technology (unopened!). Technical device for determining position, used on warships for deep-sea navigation. The gyrosphere compass was developed in the 1920s by Hermann Anschütz-Kämpfe (1872-1931) with the help of Albert Einstein. In accompanying wooden box, labeled ”Open only with the consent of Anschütz-Montage! Extremely rare! Technical rarity. Ball diameter approx. 25 cm, box approx. 31 x 31 x 31 cm
