Karl May (1901-1976), German-Canadian expressionist who studied in Prague and Vienna. His works were shown in the Feme exhibition ”Degenerate Art” and later destroyed. After several years in Iran, where he taught at the academy in Tehran, he emigrated to Canada. ”Boy from Dagestan”, color crayon on paper (not fixed), signed and dated ”may 52” lower right, rubbed, slight traces of storage, behind passepartout 85 x 60 cm
