Alfred Beier-Red (1902-2001), rare early anti-Nazi caricature, ”Where is my son! – Zum Sackhüpfen in’s dritten Reich” (meaning here the body bag), original drawing in ink on paper, 1933, signed by hand and inscribed on labels in the lower margin, design for the ”Roter Pfeffer”, inscribed, address stamp on verso. Beier-Red was an important German caricaturist, he mainly worked for the communist press, such as ”Die Rote Post”, ”Die Rote Fahne” etc., to protect himself from reprisals he usually signed with the pseudonym ”Red”. He was a co-founder of the ”Association of Revolutionary Visual Artists” and from 1946 he worked mainly for ”Neues Deutschland”. His prints and drawings are represented in the German Historical Museum, among others, but are rarely found on the market. Conservation defects, sheet dimensions 39 x 28 cm
