Coffee service for 12 persons, 28 pieces, France, 19th c., Empire form, each piece painted with various hunting scenes in sepia and black, including foxes, storks, birds and hunters, tws. red accents, coffee pot, h. 16 cm, milk jug and sugar, 12 cups with saucer, h. 7 cm, large round bowl, d. 22.5 cm, Royal provenance: purchased at Christie’s London, auction ”Property of descendants of Their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary”, 13 December 2019, formerly the property of T.R.H. Prince and Princess Henry, Dukes of Glocester. He was an uncle of the present Queen Elizabeth II. The Prince was Governor General of Australia from 1945 to 1947.
