Focke, Wilhelm H. 1878 – Bremen – 1974. the Neuenlander field (Bremen airfield). 1912. colored pencil/paper, unsigned, at the back side with pastedown place-inscribed a. dated, 11.5 x 19.2 cm, Hadré 2131.- Since 1910 flight tests were carried out on the Bremen parade ground Neuenlander Feld, among others with the ”Duck”, an airplane designed by Focke’s younger brother Heinrich Focke (1890-1979) and Focke. In 1913, the authorities granted permission for an air base on the field, which is considered the birth of the Bremen commercial airport. At the end of 1923, the Focke-Wulf Flugzeugwerk was founded at the Bremen airfield.
