View into a street on Montmartre with passers-by. 1931. oil/canvas with inclusion of the painting ground, bottom left signed and dated Eylert Spars 31, 50 x 60 cm, framed 62,5 x 73 cm.- Spars, who worked as a freelance artist, received a scholarship for a stay in Paris in 1930 through the mediation of the director of the Hamburg Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe and patron of the German Expressionists, Max Sauerlandt. In 1931 Spars exhibited at the Hamburg Kunstverein.
