Anonymous marine painter of the 1st half of the 19th century. Captain’s portrait of the brigantine Theresia from Boekzetelerfehn. Pen and watercolor/paper, unsigned, browned and minimally stained, 47 x 66.5 cm, framed behind glass 50.5 x 70 cm, unopened – The Theresia was launched in Emden 1833/34 at the shipyard ”Zum preußischen Adler” and capsized in 1842 off the French Atlantic coast.
