Anonymous marine painter of the 19th century. Captain’s portrait of the British barque Royal Bride on the high seas. Oil/canvas, unsigned, 50 x 76.5 cm, restored, retouched, framed 95.5 x 85.5 cm. – In June 1863, the Royal Bride sank during a storm in Hawke’s Bay near Napier on the way from London to Auckland.
