Sculpture Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta(jap. [dai]seishi bosatsu), Japan, probably Muromachi period(1336-1573) 15th/16th c., wood-carved figure with red and gold lacquer, the companion of Amitabha in lotus-seat(skrt. padmasana) symbolizing wisdom(skrt. prajna) forms the varada-mudra with the left hand, nestled robe folds and concentric pattern of the belly-bound sweat cloth typical for the period, probably once with crown and attribute in the right hand, 12x8x5cm
