Cloisonné lidded box, Japan, c. 1900 (Meiji). Rectangular body with hinged lid on 4 feet. On the lid a four-piece cartouche with birds among blossoming branches and flowers. The sides with scattered flowers. Gilt interior with engraved decoration on the base and lid. Slightly rubbed, 5 x 11 x 9 cm.
