Ernst Hassebrauk (1905-1974), painter and graphic artist from Dresden, studied there and in Leipzig, where he became a master student of Willi Geiger. Under the Nazis he was banned from exhibiting. In 1947 he was appointed professor. Among his students was Werner Tübke. ”Cornelia with Earrings, ” etching with drypoint on copperplate, signed lower right by his widow, WV 211, Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig, 40 x 15.1 cm, sheet dimensions 53 x 39.5 cm.
