Iron casket, France/Spain circa 1500. Symmetrical tracery in several bands and fields backed with red velvet on wooden core. Iron loops on the sides (for carrying/leather strap?). Hinged lid with long strike plate with pier and pinnacles. The counterpart of the lock is missing. Interior lined with red velvet. Tracery damaged in places, velvet more rubbed in places, 13 x 26 x 19 cm.
