Pair of Imari plates, China, 18th century, deep hollowed plates (soup plates) with lobed lip rim. Decorated in cobalt blue, iron red and gold. In the center a round reserve with a figurative scene in a garden, delimited by a sword pommel border. The rim with large, matching curved cartouches in blue with gold heightening. One plate with a small hairline crack in the rim, the gold more heavily rubbed, d. 24.5 cm
