From June 12th to 15th, the 144th auction of the Historia Auction House will take place. The catalog once again offers more than 4,000 lots for you. The diverse assortment of art, handicrafts, jewelry, and antiques is complemented by a collection of pop music memorabilia and magic props from the estate of the Berlin magic theater "La Vie en Rose."
This collection includes various vanishing illusions, an escape box, old and collectible tricks, and props for stage magic. It comprises 350 items with numerous treasures for collectors of pop history. Autographs from Elvis, Pink Floyd, Queen, and many more will be offered, along with gold records, setlists, rare pressings, or masks from the film "The Wall." The jewelry department, with more than 600 lots of mostly moderately priced classic and modern gold and silver jewelry, as well as delicate pearl jewelry, is complemented by a collection of more than 120 wristwatches and pocket watches.
The silver department once again presents a well-balanced assortment of table silver, interspersed with exceptional collector’s pieces, such as the Augsburg foot cup from around 1650 with engraved biblical scenes, or the extraordinary Swedish lidded box by Carl Ohlsson, adorned with numerous insects, as well as the three-piece candelabrum set made of gilded silver with ivory shafts from Bruckmann & Sons.
Among the more than 700 porcelain items, the Picasso-designed plate from Madoura in Vallauris stands out, starting with a modest price of €1,000. A gigantic eagle from the Volkstedt porcelain manufactory will appeal to collectors of exquisite animal figures. Numerous Meissen figures and various service pieces round out the porcelain offerings. Amidst the delicate nudes and heroic sculptures in the sculpture department, the young lion "Dusselchen" looks particularly cute. The bronze by August Gaul from the Noack foundry was one of the artist’s most successful works and starts here at €5,000 (Lot 3374). The more than 600 offered collector’s items are once again an exciting mix of rare and curious pieces, kitsch, and handicrafts, culminating in a collection of Westerwald stoneware jugs.
Saturday is dedicated to art, with more than 600 paintings and graphic works from five centuries going under the hammer. Wilhelm Kuhnert impressively demonstrates his skills in landscape painting with a savannah landscape devoid of animals (Lot 7264, €2,000 limit). The accompanying lion is provided by Kuhnert in the form of a pencil study (Lot 7265, €300 limit). Please note that the "Magic" and "Memorabilia" sections are not included in the print catalog but can only be found in our online catalog at www.historia.de. All other lots are also listed there with high-resolution photos, which should be seen as a supplement to the print catalog.
The preview will take place on June 6th, 7th, and 8th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at our premises at Manteuffelstraße 27, in 12103 Berlin-Tempelhof. The auction will begin each day from June 12th to 15th at 10 a.m. The porcelain section also leads the Asian art department, featuring an exquisite Qing Famille-Rose vase, which will be called under number 3610 with a starting price of €8,000.
