Tue, 9th of June from 10:00 am
From June 9th to 13th, the 149th auction of the auction house Historia will take place. The catalog once again offers more than 4,500 lots for you. The usual diverse assortment of art, handicrafts, jewelry, and antiques is led by the jewelry department, which includes nearly 500 lots, featuring mostly moderately valued classic and modern gold and silver jewelry, as well as delicate pearl jewelry.
The silver department presents a well-balanced selection of table silver, interspersed with exceptional collector’s items, such as the Bremen tea machine from around 1900, which comes complete with an insert and drip tray. Among the more than 900 porcelain items, a Jugendstil vase from Rozenburg with painting by Samuel Schelling stands out, as does the grand pendulum clock topped by a mounted Arab fighting a tiger. Two figures by the famous Art Deco sculptor Chiparus enrich the sculpture department, which is led by the famous statuette of a Cossack couple kissing goodbye, created by the Russian sculptor Lanceray. A striking Vaishravana from 18th century Tibet will attract the attention of our Asian art collectors, whose department comprises about 350 lots. The extensive varied section, featuring more than 900 objects, is enhanced by a collection of 50 exquisite bags from Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, and Gucci.
The more than 800 paintings, drawings, and prints from the 16th to the 21st century will fill the entire auction Saturday. These include illustrious names from the 19th and early 20th centuries such as Carl Morgenstern, Chwala, Zampighi, and Ferdinand Knab. The modern works feature artists such as Fred Thieler, Günther Uecker, Herbert Zangs, Neo Rauch, and Gottfried Helnwein.
